Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni Review: The Roller-Mop Flagship, and What Owners Say After 3 Months
By HTB Research Team · Updated September 19, 2026 · 9 min read
Every 2026 flagship claims to mop better. The X8 Pro Omni is the only one that actually changed the mechanism: a spinning roller mop that continuously washes itself with 16 jets of fresh water, instead of a cloth that drags dirt around. It is the most distinctive mop system of the year — and the question owners keep asking is whether the roller really stays clean, or just sounds like it does.

Key specs at a glance
- Suction: 18,000 Pa, with a side brush and mop that both extend to edges
- Mopping: OZMO ROLLER — self-washing roller mop with 16 fresh-water nozzles, detergent auto-dispensed
- Base: self-emptying, hot-water mop washing, hot-air drying, and a clean/dirty water tank system
- Navigation: AIVI 3D obstacle avoidance and a lidar map
Across Chinese owner communities
The X8 Pro Omni gets some of the most detailed mopping feedback of any 2026 robot, and the pattern is consistent:
- “The roller genuinely stays cleaner than cloth mops” is the top compliment. Owners with large hard-floor areas say they notice the difference within a week — no gray streaks, no dragging the same dirt back across the floor.
- Edge and corner cleaning is a real strength. The extending side brush and mop reach skirting boards that previous Ecovacs flagships missed.
- Detergent auto-dispensing is loved, with a caveat. “Great when it works, but refills are proprietary and the app should warn you earlier,” is a common month-two note.
- Suction is strong, not the class king. Owners rate 18,000 Pa as plenty for homes; Dreame and Roborock flagships still lead on raw vacuum numbers.
Honest catch
The roller mop is the best floor-cleaning mechanism on the market, but the X8’s vacuum side is merely very good — if carpet is your priority, a suction-first flagship is a better buy. The proprietary detergent and the price also put it at the premium end. For hard-floor households that mop daily, this is the most convincing machine of 2026.
Typical street price: $1,199-$1,399; event-season lows have touched $999.

Bottom line
The Ecovacs X8 Pro Omni wins the mopping argument outright — no cloth mop on the market stays this clean mid-run. If your home is mostly hard floors and you hate re-mopping, this is the flagship to wait for a Prime window price on. Carpet-heavy homes should read our carpet guide instead.
